Benefits Networking&Programming How to join the Chamber Membership Application

A primary objective of the Greater Norwalk Chamber of Commerce is to provide varied and valuable benefits for its membership, enabling businesses to develop, advance and grow.

Networking
The Chamber provides many networking opportunities for its members. The two main programs in this category are the monthly Business After Hours and Networking Breakfasts. The Chamber also takes part in regional Chamber expos and networking events throughout the year. Although all Chamber events provide the opportunity to network, these programs emphasize this particular aspect, while also highlighting a hosting Chamber member.

Marketing Opportunities
The Chamber provides members a variety of means by which to promote and market their business. This may be accomplished through acquiring a mailing list, placing inserts in regular Chamber mailings, or placing ads in the annual directory. The Chamber also provides the opportunity for member profiles and member news in its newsletter, The Chamber Report, which is distributed quarterly in The Hour, as well as the The Chamber E-port, the Chamber's electronic newsletter, which is emailed eight months of the year.

Valuable Programming
The Chamber provides educational and informative seminars and programs throughout the year to build awareness and keep businesses abreast of issues and matters affecting their region and business community, such as the Economic Outlook Luncheon, Mayor’s State of the City, Regional Roundtable, and others. In addition, the Chamber hosts events of recognition as well, including the annual Small Business Awards, the Pride In Norwalk Awards and others.
The Chamber also boasts development programs such as the Norwalk Leadership Institute, a ten-week instructive and interactive professional development program; and the Small Business Development Academy, a free, eight-week educational course addressing issues crucial to starting and sustaining a small business.

Business Directory
Every year the Chamber publishes the Who’s Who Greater Norwalk Business Directory that serves as a reference tool and resource for all local businesses and residents. The Who’s Who not only lists all member businesses alphabetically and categorically, but the directory also provides important community phone numbers, statistics, and general information about Norwalk and the surrounding communities.

Referrals
The Chamber recommends members for frequent referral requests that come into the Chamber office, and encourages members to do business with other members whenever possible.

Website Directory
The Chamber’s website, www.norwalkchamberofcommerce.com, lists all members alphabetically, categorically, and also by contact name. The Website also provides for links to all members’ websites and e-mails. In addition, it serves as a resource for the business community through valuable links and information on Chamber programs and events, as well as information on the benefits of Chamber membership. The Chamber’s website is an easy and effective way to find the services and goods available in the area.

Group Medical Insurance
The Chamber offers quality health insurance programs that have proven to be an important benefit for members. This is achieved through a partnership with ConnectiCare, Aetna, and other providers.
