Buckley Ryan and B.J. Lawless, owners of the successful B.J. Ryan's at 57 Main Street, have another restaurant just around the block that combines classic barbecue and crab. Named BANC House for the BBQ and crab they serve, the restaurant features "something for everyone, across the seasons.”
The River Street location once housed Cogburn's, where Ryan and Lawless worked together years ago. They had hoped to buy the property upon returning to the restaurant industry, but opened B.J. Ryan's instead. When the property became available, they quickly secured the location. After many months of renovation, the 160-seat restaurant was ready, and has been going steady and strong ever since, becoming a favorite of many.
Culinary influences range from Maryland to Memphis, and the walls are lined with black & white photos of the restaurants the pair visited during their research. The BBQ is authentic and top quality, and fresh crab is flown in daily from Baltimore, and a local purveyor supplies the snow and king crab.
Join us as this pair of accomplished and very community-minded restaurateurs host Chamber members for a sure-to-be enjoyable and memorable event.
"Our business has grown because of our involvement with the Chamber—no doubt about it. Moreover, we have not only grown our business, but we have also fostered valuable relationships in the local community. The Greater Norwalk Chamber of Commerce is an extremely beneficial organization."
